Huttingfton, aged 50, who superintends
the stock farm of Dr. VV. C. Spenrman,
3 miles east of town, was gored by a
Jersey bull yesterday. The old man's
abdomen was ripped open, letting out
bis entrails, and ha was also badly cut
on various other portions of the bady.
Two Small lloys Hurned to Death.
Dighton, Kan., July 22.—The 8 and
10-year-old sons of William Watson,
living about 15 miles northwestof here,
were burned to death Thursday night
while sleeping in a granary about 10
rods from the dwelling. The origin of
the fire Is not known.
Canrobert's Son in Court Care.
Paris. July 22.—The court has pro-
vided the son of Marshal Canrobert
with a Judicial guardian. This action
was taken at the request of the young
man's father, who had become wearied
of his son's prodigality.
The Dakota Beaten.
Kingston-, July 23.—The I.illth to-
day beat the American built Dakota
by a minute in the race of the ten-
raters. The l.i 1 ith, throughout most
of the race, led the Dakota by nearly
20 minutes.
Kiimors of War In the Fur Kant.
London, July 22.—A dispatch re-
ceived here this evening from Shang-
hai says that a rumor is in circulation
there that war has been declared be-
tween China and Japan.
By an explosion of gas in the Tront
building in Lynn, Mass., K. E. Trout,
owner of the building, and Officer
Arthur Wells were so badly burned
that tlicy will probably die and three
others were severely injured. The
damage to tho building will amount to
