Pkbiiaps sundry bills, have some-
thing to do with changing the com-
missioners districts. Why are tbey
so desperately desirous of having
democratic commissioners in a major-
ity next time? It won't work.
The Oklahoman ought to look a
little more carefully after its party
lea'era. Mr. D. C. Lewis and sev-
eral other gentleman high in the
democratic partv have assured Beau-
mont that they would like to see the
u| democratic party endorse him. If
? those party leaders whould lie per-
mitted to do such a naughty thing
it would leave the Oklahoman with-
out a party.

By a clever readjustmen of figures
the report of the county indebtedness
has been rtJrced *">,000 since our
last issue. The financial statement
of the county has bee- republished
in order to correct errors. In the re-
published sta'emeat it is also under-
taken to reduce the indebtedness
about 15,000. As first published
the statement was as follows under
the head of outstanding indebted-
ness.
County warrants including poor
♦ 157,895.
Road and bridge *2,552
Colored schools $2,443
County bond, less sinking fund
'2,700.
Tbe new statement read as follows,
so note tbe clever change and the
summing up in the middle of the
column.
County warrants incl'dg poor $37
895.
County bonds less sinking fund 72,
00.
Road and bridge indebtedness
2,552.
Colored school indebtedness 2,443
It may be that somebody will be
fooled by such a manipulation of the
figures, but the cumber will be very
small.
