Employees of the Creek County Court
Clerk’s office wear red in support of troops
B\ BOB SHKRR1I.I.
Herald Staff Writer
It has been dubbed "Freedom Friday” by the women who
work in the Creek County Court Clerk’s office.
And to show their support the personnel have taken to
wearing red shirts on each Friday in an effort to show support
of U.S. troops fighting in Afghanistan and Iraq.
The thought of wearing red shirts apparently surfaced last
June in an e-mail message and that prompted Pat Creason,
Creek County court clerk to purchase red shirts for all 28 of
the office personnel.
Several of the people who work in the office have relatives
in the military who have served or are serving in Iraq or
Afghanistan and this looked to be a good way to show our
support, Creason said.
“It’s not about politics,” Creason said, “It is an effort to
keep them in our thoughts and prayers.
“We hope the idea of wearing red shirts catches on and
maybe we’ll see a lot of people wearing red on Fridays.” she
said.
For Creason the support hits close to home.
She has a grand-nephew, Tracey Hoff, from Texas, with the
U.S. Marine Corps who recently returned from a tour in Iraq.
She said she also has another grand-nephew. Josh Moer,
also from Texas who just returned from his second tour in
Iraq.
She said Moer is a trained crewmember of a search and res-
cue team in the Marine Corps.
Moer is a member of the U.S. Army and is involved in com-
munications.
Dianna Horath, a deputy in the Sapulpa office, has a son-
in-law, James Parson, who currently is stationed at
Alamogordo. N.M.
Horath said Parson is a member of the United States Air
Force and recently returned from a tour in the Middle East.
And Connie Culbert, also a deputy in the Sapulpa office,
has a cousin, Andrea Titsworth who currently serving aboard
a ship in the United States Navy
Culbert said Titsworth just recently returned from a tour in
waters ofT Iraq.

Sapulpa Arts
plan ‘Evening
of Theatre’
From Staff Reports
Halloween will come to Sapulpa a
little early this year as Sapulpa Arts
and Sapulpa Community Theatre
present an Evening of Theatre, fea-
turing "Dracula: The Musical?”
This year’s Evening of Theatre
will be held Thursday, Sept. 28 at the
theater, located at 124 S. Water St.
Dinner will be served beginning at 7
p.m., followed by the production at
8. Dessert will be served after the
production along with a meet-and-
greet session with the actors.
The event will also offer patrons a
sneak-peek at “Dracula,” which does
not open until the following evening.
This is the second year for the two
organizations to hold the fund-rais-
ing event for Sapulpa Arts, and chair-
person Sara Plummer said she
expects it to be a roaring success.
“Last year was a lot of fun,”
Plummer said. “This fundraiser for
Sapulpa Arts is much more casual
than our other fundraiser, the annual
soiree.
“We are looking forward to play-
ing with the theme of Dracula’ to
plan the meal and dessert.”
Plummer said she has enjoyed
working with the theater’s new man-
ager, Starr Hardgrove. in bringing the
event together.
“The Sapulpa Community
Theatre's goal is the same as ours —
to bring the arts to our town,”
Plummer said.
Tickets for the event are on sale at
the Sapulpa Chamber of Commerce,
101 E. Dewey Ave., for $20 a person.
