Appleson arose from her seat and, ac-
companied by her brother, hurriedly
left the parquet. As she started to
leave the opera house, it is alleged, tnat
Appleson struck her in the face. Her
brother took up thin eflfront and knocked
Appleson down. The men started to
mix things up in lively fashion when
Officer Miller appeared and parted them,
but not until he .tad been forced to draw
his revolver.

Mrs. Kliaa A. Violet, taken from a Notch-
es, Mis*., paper will be of interest to
many Oklahoma City people as she lived
here for a number of years and was
highly esteemed by all who knew her
husband, O. II. Violet who died at New
Orleans throe years a^o, who waa iho
first police judge in thia (ity under the
provisional government.

"There died at hor residence in A«lams
county, near this city, at t o'clock yaster
day afternoon, Mrs. Kll/a A. Violet, who
at one time was one of tha moat promin-
ent ladies of Natchez, and conceded to be
the belle of tho dtv. She ia most pleas-
antly remembered by all the older soci-
ety pepople, all of whom deeply deplore
hor death.
Mrs. Violet was a granddaughter of
the late Jacob Rout.h. sn era leant from
Walae, a*h«> was one of the early settlers
of NateHea, and whoso sons and dtu^ht-
era occupied prominent, placea in the bus-
ineaa and social circles of Louiaiana, a
numt er of deacendsnts of whom are atill
with us. Thia daughter of Ann M. (nsa
Routh) and Kliaa Ojjden, M. 1).—a wid-
ow at the time of hor death, was mar-
ried, and was luiowu first as Mrs. Camp-
bell, then a a Mrs. Cochran, then and last
a a Mrs. Violet, that being the name of
her last husband.

which had been destroyed by lightuing.

central one erected to thu memory of
Job Routh and wife. She was connected
with moat of tho old families of Ada ma
county and elsewhere and sll who sur-
vive her honor and revere her beloved

child. He contracted a slight cold a few
