Evidently several other things must
be banished before war is abolished.
There are two sides to everything,
Including the neighbor's Jazz records.
The time seeins to have arrived to
give disarmament uiore than rhetoric

ously enough to make it easier to get
one.

cued Armenia"—as the cat did the

Christmas Is past, but the Christmas
spirit would be useful anywhere, at
any time.
It Is not in America but in Asia that
the real yellow peril exists. Ask Korea
and Clilnn.
Another increase in railroad fares
at least should assist the development
of home life.
Speaking of Immigration, Europe,
made its own bed and now wants to
sleep In America's.
On the other hnnd, blue laws are j
one thing that nobody as yet has
blamed on the Reds.
The only argument the munition
makers can advance against disarma-
ment Is, "Oh, shoot."
Truth moves faster than fiction. Air-
plane liquor smugglers beat the movie
melodramatists by several laps.
That federal report discussing "low
tobacco prices" will come as a great
surprise to most users of the weed.
A love of peace never develops far
enough to prevent a big crowd from
assembling to witness a prize fight.
The thieving fraternity seems to
have found out that It takes a lot of
ready cash to live up to a fur coat.
So far as the naked eye can see the
high speed of air machines hasn't
made any difference In mall deliveries.
Nowadays the country never knows
whether congress Is in session or not
The results are about the same in both
cases.
Fish may talk, as Prof. Alexander
Graham Bell says, but they do not go
around telling all they know to every-
body.
Meat Is now so much cheaper that
the cheaper-cut expert Is thinkin* up
fancy ways In which to cook the
choicer bits.
An old-fashioned parental slap on
some youthful faces would have a
tendency to slow up the cheek-to-
cheek dancing.
Many Russians would like a little
reliable local government, even If the
rest of the world had to take care of
Itself for awhile.
The certified population of the
United States Is 105,708,771. Gee, it
would be some job If Uncle Sam de-
manded a recount!
Congressmen are promising all sorts
of tariff bills—perhaps as a smoke
screen to conceal their inaction in
matters of Importance.
Wood alcohol Is said not to be no-
ticeable as it Is going down. It Is
more noticeable as the fellow who
drank It Is being let down.

maybe they'd better come home.
Canada has lifted the luxury tax on
everything except liquor, playing
cards and candy. Thus the excellent
game of rummy gets it on two counts.
Poultry continues high, but all other

to do is to let the mighty roast show
the proud turkey how to take a joke.
Separated as they are by other na-
tions, Holland and Jugo-Slavla cannot
very well go to war, but they might
arrange a spelling contest or some-
thing.
Japan Is said to favor armament
reduction. It Is hoped by many that
this kind of nn understanding will
spread to some of the less enlightened
nations.
There will he 107,000,000 people in
the United States by the year 2100,
