The U. S. A. G iris at the Strand
theater last night opened to a packed
house and f.ro*n the time the curtain
raised on the opening scene until it
went dowrn on the closing act the au-
diece was ke^st in unroaroaus cheers.
The jokes were original and new, the
w'hole show out of the ordinary and
that it pleased the audience was evi-
denced from the manner in which the
actors were received.
Clid in alaborate gowns the chorus
puts on a number of clever songs and
works in complete harmony with the
rest of the cast. The company will
present a new bill at the Strand thea-
ter this evening and those wh-j like
high class entert: linment should not
fail to see them.
