Suits Made To Correct Measure
SUIT FOR RE-
CEIVER DISMISSED
Attorneys For C. H. Camecron,
Dismiss Action For Appoint-
ment of Receiver, Tuesday
Afternoon.
The suit instituted by C. H.
Cameron against the P. 0. & Gas
Co., at Okemah, for a receiver for
-the joint properties of the Paden
Oil Co., and the Prairie Oil & Gas
Cu., was dismissed Tuesday nfter-
iion by the attorneys for the plain-
tiff. This suit was filed by C. H.
Cameron, president of the P;iden
Oil Co., in an attempt to compel
the Prairie company to open up the
Rogers well, known as the No. 1,
and to have a receiver appointed by
the court for this property.
At the hearing before Judge
Wren at Okemah, Saturday, May 20
A. D. Morton, thru his attorneys,
Wells £ Lee, of Prague, filed an in-
tervening petitioij in which it was
alleged, that he, (A. D. Morton),
is the owner of a majority of the
voting stock of the Paden Oil Co.,
and that the suit was filed by <- • «•
Cameron without authority, or by
tha authority of the Board of Di-
rectors of the said Paden Oil Co.
In the intervening petition, it
was set out that the Prairie Oil_&
Gas Co., had taken care of the joint
properties (Cameron alleging Out
such were in jeopardy) of the two
companies, even going so far as to
renew a large number of expiring
leases on account of the financial
difficulties of the Paden Oil Co.,
and chewing that the Prairie com-
pany had advanced monies in excess
of $9,000.00 for the Paden Oil to.,
to protect, operate and develop the
joint properties. It is to be hoped
the dismissal of this suit will result
in the amicable settlement of the al-
leged differences existing between
the Paden company and the Prai-1
rie, but should the results hoped for j
in this matter fail to materialize,,
it would be better to have threshed j
the matter out in the courts to the j
biter end so that the general pub-
lic might know the true status of j
affairs between these two compan-
ies. It is a matter of vital inter-
est to the p?ople of Paden and i
Prague that an amicable adjustment
of the alleged differences be at once
settled and the school-boy petiness
displaced by the iristigators of the
suit be scathingly condemned by
the people of both communities.
