Recent figures show tha
more than 10,000,000 barrel,
of oil are in storage in th«
•outlx field, and that abou.
5,0"0,000 barrels have been
taken out by the common
carrier pipe lines since the
umpire was put in the field
last May to take care of pro-
rating the runs. The fig-
ures for what has been taken
out in tank car shipments in
the mean time are not at
hand, but would help to
raise the total a considerable
amount for this means of
transportation Taking into I
account the production from
the opening of the field prob-
ably 25,000,000 barrels have
been produced to date. The
five acre traot in the south-
west corner of the Barney
Thlocco allotment in the
northwest quarter of section
9-18-6 is being claimed by C.
F. Bissett and others of Tul-
sa, and suit has been filed
against the Southern Oil
corporation (R S Ayers and
others), the PO <fe G com-
pany and the Standard Oil
company of New Jersey to
recover on the sale of ap-
proximately 100,000 barrels
of oil sold from the big well
on this tract since October 1.

and adds to the legal com-
plications in connection with
the Thlocco oil property.

Christmas is here again,
and the old year is almost
gone. Next issue of the
Derrick will be "January 1,
1915." How fast the years
roll by! 1914 has been full
of eventful days—evil days
The greatest war the world
lias ever known started like
a clap of thunder from
clear sky. Beginning in one
of the smallest nations on
earth, one after another of
the old world powers plung
ed into the bloody [vortex
until now, in the closing
days of this eventful year
the tramp of armies resound
through all Europe, battle
ships ride the waves of every
sea, and i,he veij air is full
of demons cf destruction
Where one snort year ago
peace and plenty stnilef
upon happy homes, destru<
tion wasts at noonday and
pestilence walks forth
night-time. Happy Christ
ma* carrols have been rt
placed by the weeping c
widows for loved ones who
are no more, and the pitiful
wail of orphans who cry for
bread. The glad anthem no
more reverberate? through
the aisles of the temple for
the singers are gone and tin-
altar his been laid waste.
chant has deserted his coun-
ter and the money changer
has left his tables. All this
and more has come to the
people of the old world dur-
ing 1914. How thankful we
should be that no such dire
calamity has befalleu our
land. Peace and plenty
crowns the closing days of
the new world, with one sin-
gle exception. Every Amer-
ican citizen should exhult-
iugly join in anthems of
praise that our temples are
not laid wast by the ruthless
tread and the mailed hand of
war—that no "Rachel weeps
for loved ones because they
are not," and no orphan's
cry fur bread is heaid in our
laud. "Peace on earth and
good will to men,'* is the
motto of this the greatest
nation on earth.
"While Harold Green was es-j
corting Miss Viola Wise from the

a savage dog attacked them and
bit Mr. Green on the public j

The Baber trial at Tulsa
resulted in another mistrial
similar to the one pullod off
at Sapulpa in the Kelly Reed
case. Ten of the Jurors in
the Mabercase were in favor
cf acquitting him of any
offense. The first ballot tak
en by the jury acquitted Ba-
ber of the grave charge of
murder by a unanimous vote.
Then it stood ten for convic-
tion for manslaughter and
two for acquittal. The\
could not agree on a verdict
and vere discharged on Sat-
urday afler hiving the case
tinder consideration about
four days.
