President Edson opened the artistic
proceedings by calling upon Henri I-a
Bonte to sing the Aria from Boheme.
Mr. La Bonte used to be a resident of
the American artist seeking engage-
ments with out aid of a millionaire
finally found his opportunity and im-
mediately conquered. He is now under
contract concerts throughout the south
western country. Mr. La Bonte is
worthy of every encouragement and
every support that may be tendered
him. He possesses a voice of splendid
timbre and pleasing flexibility and
sings with an emotional judgment and
an artistic abandon that reveals the
spark of artistry imbedded in his heart.
Mr. La Bonte aroused his audience to
the highest pitch of enthusiasm. Ma-
tured muscians and men beyond the
artist with an ovation the like of which
is seldom witnessed even at the Gamut
Club. Our hearts grew light under the
influence of these genuine music lovers
who place the ability of the artist
above his name and fame. —Alfred
Metzgerin “The Pacific Coast Musical
