Our Christmas Greeting
In this festive season when everyone, sometimes unconeon-
sciously, is touched with something, at least, of the spirit of
“peace on earth, goodwill toward man”. Christmas greetings
are the order of the day and are, perhaps, too lightly and pro-
miscuously exchanged.
It is, however, with a full realization of all that the term
signifies and typifies that the Shamrock Brogue takes this op-
portunity to extend to its many friends and patrons, the people
of Shamrock and this oil field, a sincerelv honest, “MERRY
CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR.”
The Brogue has been with this town since its first incep-
tion. It has grown with the town and prides itsill' that it
has played no small part in the building of this community
.aiul has ever striven for those things which make for a bet-
ter and finer municipality.
Our friends are legion. We presume we have our enemies.
No individual or institution which does things can escape
such a contingency. If The Brogue has made mistakes, and we
presume we have, they have been mistakes in judgment and
not of intent.
With our next issue we will have rounded out a year of
honest, sincere endeavor to do our part toward building and
maintaining a clean, wholesome, community—a desirable place
to live and work. We pride ourselves that in the outer work
Shamrock bears this reputation and that we have been instru-
mental to no small extent in extending publicity of a desirable
and community-building character.
The knowledge of a year’s work well and faithfully done
is our reward and is a Christmas present which is satisfactory
to us.
We wish to feel that we are sharing with our friends a hap-
py and prosperous Christmas, that we are realizing the true
meaning of a Christmas spirit, and ask them to join with us in
wishing Shamrock a Merry Christmas.
