Section 1. For tbe purpose of
raising a revenue for said Town of
M jund* and to regilate and control
tbe businesses, occupations and pro-
fe-sion# named herein, there is bere-
faj iev,ed for tbe year IkOfc. and for !
each year thereafter until otherwise
provided, an occupation license tax
on tbe following businesses, occupa-
tion* and professions for tbe time
and in tbe amounts as follows, to-
wit:
I. For each Theatre or Moving
Picture show 12.50 per week.
i. For each Bowling Alley 13.00
per quarter.
3. For each Shooting Liallery, con-
ducted for hire 11.00 per day or 15.00
per week.
4. For each Pawn Broker. Si.00 per
quarter.
5. For each Junk Dealer. II 00 per
quarter.
6 Persons wbo own or operate Bill-
iard or Pool tables shall pay, 13.00
per quarter on each ta'-ie so owned
or operated by them.
7. For each Ha*. ?, On 'us, Car-
riage. Baggage wagon or ctner >ebi

back, omnibus, ca-riage or baggage
wagon, *1.00 per quarter each;

carriage or baggage wagon. 75 cents

cotbing, hat. cap. boot or shoe store.

12. For each Harness shop, 11.00
per quarter.
13. F'or each Furnishing store, 11.00

quarter.
15. For each Restaurant and Short
order. 11.00 per quarter.

where there is no livery in connect-

Watch repair shop, $1.00 per quarter.
21. For each Plumbing establish-
ment, *1.00 per quarter.
22. For each Millinery store or
Dress Making establishment, *1.00

23. For each Bakery, 50 cents per
quarter.
24. For each Confectionery, Soda
Fountain, or Lemonade stand, 11.00
per quarter.
25. F'or each Tailoring, Dyeing or
Cleaning establishment, .50 cents per
quarter.
26. For each Undertaking establish-
ment or persons dealing in under-
taking supplies, ll.Pj per quarter.
27. F'or each Hotel where rates are
*2.00 per day or better. *1.00 per
quarter.
For each Hotel or Boarding House
where rates are less than *2.00 per
day, 50 cents per quarter.
29. For each Banking or Brokerage
concern, *1.00 per quarter.
30. For each Newspaper or Job
printing office, *1.00 per quarter.
31. For each Physician or Surgeon,
• 1.00 per quarter.
32. For each Real Estate dealer,
*1.00 per quarter.

per quarter.

quarter, provided that any person
building, and carry on any
sale of any good* wares or merchan-
dise of any kind or live stock, *6.00 j
per day. provided, that this section I

ularly licensed auctioneers resident
of the Town.

of the Town or county.

whatever, for present or future de-
livery. from any stand, which stand
shall not obstruct tbe street, side
walkl or any thoroughfare of the
Town there shall he collected a li-
cense fee of *2.50 per day, or *10.00
per week.
53. From each Drummer or Red
dler or person who goes from bouse
to bouse, or to any private or public i
place in tbe Town for the purpose j
of selling or offering to sell, for pres-
ent or future delivery, any goods,
wares or merchandise of an descript-
ion. shall pay a license fee of. 12.50
per day or *10.00 per week, provid-
ed, this shall not apply to farmers,
gardeners or to agents or drummers
wbo sell exclusively to merchants.
•54. From each Building Contractor
*1.00 per quarter.
section 2. All licenses provided
for in this ordinance shall be paid
quarterly in advance, except where
a rate is given by the day or week,
in which case they shall be paid in
advance for the period for which
license is desired, to the Town Mar
shall of said Town. The clerk shall
issue a license which license shall
specify the amount of money paid,
the business or occupation licensed,
the name of tbe person or persons
to whom issued and date of issu-
ance and date of expiration; said
license shall be attested with the
corporate seal of said Town. No li-
censes shall be transferable ‘•xcept
by consent of tbe Board of Trustees.
Section 3. All persons conducting
a business or occupation for which
a license is required as herein set
out, shall before engaging in such
business or occupation, procure a
license of the Town Marshal, paying
therefor the fee required and post
such license in his or her place of-
business, or upon demand of tbe
Marshal produce such license for in-
spection.
Section 4. All licenses collected by
the Town Marshal as herein provid-
ed shall be paid to the City Treas-
urer, to be used for the benefit of
the Town of Mounds in defraying
expenses of said Town as the Board
of Trustees may direct.
Heetion 5 Any person, firm or
corporation refusing to comply with
any cf the provisions of this ordi-
nance shall be deemed guilty of a
misdemeanor, and upon conviction
thereof, shall be fined in any sum
not less than *5.00 nor more than
*25.00 for each offense, and each day
shall constitute a separate offense.
Section 6. All ordinances and parts
of ordinances in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed.
Section 7. In order to raise a rev-
enue, regulate and control the oc-
cupations, businesses and profess-
ions named in this ordinance and to
protect the health, safety and peace
of tbe inhabitants of the Town of
Mounds, an emergency is hereby de-
clared to exist, by reason whereof
this ordinance shall take effect from
and after its passage, approval and
publication as required by law.
