Liquor Men Arrested.
McAIester Okla. Jan. 5. After
gathering evidence secretly for sev-
eral days the city and county offic-
ers together with the federal officer.)
today raided many places of .business
h'-re and issued warrants in large
quant ilies for citipens charged with
violating the liquor law.
Although deputy marshals have been
watchful here much whisky has been I
sold during the past few weeks. They I
tlink th liquor is being hauled into
the county by wagon road. Most of
alleged bootleggers gave bail but
some of them mill have to spend Sun
day in jail.

Jack Johnson the negro pugilist is
scheduled to come up for hearing

today. Johnson who is well repre-
sented by counsel is charged with
a violation of the "white slave" act
because of his relations with Lucile
Cameron the white girl with wi
he got into so much trouble with
the Chicago police authorities. John-
son has since married the girl and
she will appear in court to testify for
