In some parts of Oklahoma chinch
bugs are doing injury to late s<
Kafir and sorghum. The Kxpcriment
Station is unable to supply the infect
ed bugs. Another year's experience
confirms the opinion this method of
causing spread of contagious diseases
among the bugs cannot be relied on
with any certainty. Sometimes it
works well: more frqucntly little
good result is found. In many locali-
ties the disease appeared among the
Chinch bv gf although no infection
had been applied.

In this issue of the Sun-Democrat

he is a candidate for nomination, at
the hands of tho Democratic conven-

has resided at Oklahoma City since

member of the Second Territorial Leg

without the injury of a ship or the loss
of a man and some of b.^ ijhips may

after the capture of Manila, and be
tore he knew anything of the armistice
for some of the other islands in tho
Philippines, with orders to take pos-
session of everything In ight and t
raise the American Hag over every
thing captured, There was no way of
recalling these ships after news of the
armistice reached him, so that it is
among the probabilities that every
one of the Philippines Islands may be
under tho American Hag before the
commanders of those ships find out
anything about an armistice, and the
armistice is not binding upon them
until they have oflicial knowledge of
it.

Another great discovery has been
made, and that too, by a lady in this
country. "Disease fastened its clutch-
es upon her and for seven years she
withstood its severest tests, but her
vital organs were undermined and
death seemed imminent. For three
innnths she coughed incessantly, and
could not sleep. She finally discover-
ed a way to recovery, by purchasing of
Us a bottle of Dr. King's New Dis-
covery for Consumption, and was so
much relieved on taking ilrst dose,
that she slept all night; and with two
bottles, has been absolutely cured.
