Hon. Scott Ferris, candidate for the
seat in the U. S. Senate now occu-
pied by Thomas Pryor Gore, will ad-
dress the people of Idabel.
On the same date, Mr. Ferris will
address the people of Garvin at 10
o'clock a. m. and Broken Bow at 8
Mr. Ferris will address the people
of Haworth, Friday, June 18 at 10:30
a. m.; Valliant at 2 p. m., and Bis-
mark at 8 p. m.
Everypne invited out to hear him.
Especially the women, farmer and
ex-soldier voters.

E. B. Hemdon, of Valliant, who
has served for several years as sec-
retary of the election board of this
county, has resigned that place and
has been made chairman of the
board.
H. A. Smith has been appointed
secretary of the board and entered
upon the duties of the office. This
was a good change and one we be-
lieve, will give the people the entire
satisfaction. They are both the very
best men in the county, men whom
the people have implicit confidence.

ENTERTAINED
BRIDGE CLUB
yesterday afternoon at
her home in this city—a
large crowd present
Mrs. A. G. Phillips was hostess to
the Bridge Club yesterday after-
noon at her beuutiful home in White-
man Addition. Seven tables were
arranged for Bridge, many inter-
ing games being played. Mrs. F. B.
West winning high score was award-
ed a pair of bath towels. Mrs. Es-
tell DeCant won the guest prize and
was awarded a guest towel. The
house was beautifully decorated with
nasturshiums and caster dahlias. A
delicious two-course luncheon was
served.

One of the prettiest parties of the
season was given by Mrs. J. Will
Jones last Thursday afternoon to the
Bridge Club of this city. Mrs. H. M.
Kirkpatrick won high score and
was given a cut glass flower basket.
Mrs. E. F. Greer was also presented
with a cut glass flower basket as a
guest prize.
Delicious cream and cake was ser-

Died
Mrs. Francis Stuckey, of Texar-
kana, and Misses Elizabeth Bowden
and Lanie Hawthorne, of Hope, Ar-
kansas, will arrive in the city today
for a few days visit with Mr. and
Mrs. A. G. Phillips.
At Her Home in Springfield,
Mo., Last Wednesday
Mrs. Ollie Sleipher, of Springfield,
Mo., died last Wednesday morning,
after only a few days illness. Mrs.
Sleipher was a daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. J. A. McFarland, of this city.
Mr. and Mrs. Sleipher had been here
for three weeks and just left Satur-
day for their home.
Mr. and Mrs. McFarland and son,
Ralph, left Wednesday night to at-
tend the funeral at Springfield.
The bereaved family have the sym-
pathy of many friends in their be-
reavement.

A revival meeting will be begin at I
the Methodist Protestrfnt church in;
this city tomorrow. Rev. Sanders, of (
Texas, will do the preaching, and the
meeting will last indefinitely.
Rev. Sanders, an old time Metho-
dist preacher, will preach the "Old
Time Religion" from the "Old Time
Gospel. A good song service eacti
evening by the church choir of about
fifty voices, will be the leading fea-
ture of the meeting.
Good comfortable seats have been
secured for the tabernacle. Every-
one is invited to attend and enjoy,
the blessings.
This is not a meeting for the
Methodist church only, but is a meet-
ing for the whole community. Yoa
are welcome.
J. M. Beeson and family of Idabel,
spent the night here Tuesday. They
were on their return from a vacation '
to Fort "Worth and Mineral Wells.— ■
Boswell News.
Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Smith enter-
tained Mrs. Smith's Sunday School
class at their home Wednseday even-
ing with a class social. Many in-
teresting games were played during
the evening and music was furnished
by Lida Williams and Lera Bryant.
At a late hour the class was taken
to the Dooley & Sutton drug store,
where they enjoyed refreshments.
This class is doing splendid work
under the able leadership of Mrs.
Smith who was recently elected
teacher.

Marie Moreland, Mable Wilkins, Ed-

go, were here yesterday.

Clark Joplin entertained Tuesday
afternoon, June 8th, at the home of
Mrs. Graydon.
Given an ideal spring afternoon to
be ushered into the beautiful Gray-
don home by the two delightful hos-
tess, Mesdames Graydon and Joplin,
and to mix and mingle with congen-
ial friends and then be served with
a delightful ice course could mean
ibut one thing a very pleasant after-
noon.
