mar Bankrupt and Discredited
Weimar, Germany, Aug. 5.-i'rince
Herman a of Saxe-Weimar-ISisan-ach,
the iheir presumptive to tlie grand
duchy of Weimar, has renounced tbe
succession of himself or his hoiri if
any to the throne of the grand dm-Ly
or its property. This action, which
was carried out with every official
formality, is in consequence of the
prince's extravagance, which already
haa caused, his transfer from the cuir-
Maiers of the guard in Berlin to a
Uhlan regiment, garrisoned <at Saar-
burg, and later to compulsory retire-
ment from the army, after which he
was placed under a guardianship.
The prince has been given the title
of Count Ostheim, but he is totally
bankrupt anj remains under the con-
trol of his guardians.
