It seems that the corporations and certain Federal
Judges are doing all in their power to make good demo-
cratic campaign thunder. The recent citation for con
tempt of certain labor leaders and the more recant reversal
of the Standard Oil line of $29,000,000 Is going a long way
toward proving the correctness of the Democratic National
Platform.

Garrison as a candidate for the office of sheriff

There are those who either do not understand or will
not acknowledge that they understand the provisions of the
primary law, ana are giving out false statements regarding
how to vote next Tuesday. If a voter is a Republican he
goes to the general primary and votes In the same manner
that he would at a Republican primary, simply selects the
men he wants and votes for them. No Republican would
think of going to a Democratic primary and voting and
likewise no Democrat would go to vote In a Republican
primary and now that a general primary for all parties is
held the same day at the same place and under the super-
vision of the same officers every voter goes In, calls for a
Democrat or Republican ballot, whichever he wants, and
votes in the same manner that he did In his own party pri
maiies. BUT NO MAN CAN CALL FOR TWO
BALLOTS AND VOTE A MIXED PRIMARY TICK
ET. He must vote one party ticket only.
Some confuse the provisions of th; primary law with
the general election Ifew and believe that a mixed ticket
cannot be voted at the general election. This is a mis-
take for the primary does not control the general election
and you vote for the candidates seeking the nomination on
I your own party ticket and if you want to split your vote at
the general election, your primary vo'.e does not prevent it.

I hereby announce myself a candidate lor the
office of sheriff of Oklahoma county subject to
the action cf the Democratic primaries August 4
M. D Casey.
Go to the primaries Tuesday and select the candidate
you believe will best represent the people.
Do your duty as a citizen next Tuesday and go to the
primaries and vote lor clean men to g) on the Democratic
ticket.
The democrats have freely charged that the Roosevelt
stamp of approval would have to be on all of I aft s words
and deeds and Tift, him elf, has proven the charge correct
in his pilgrimage to Oyster Bay to submit his speech of
acceptance to the Strenuous Sage of Sagamore before he
would give it to the people. Evidently In case of Taft's
election Roosevelt would be appointed Regent. Just
amagine Byrsn submitting his speach of acceptance for the
approval of another.
That President Gompers of the American Federation
of Labor is dealing some body blows to the Republican
ticket cannot be longer doubted. At first the Republi
can press laughed at Gompers endorsement of Bryan and
the Democratic platform. Now the laugh Is coming out
the other corner of the mouth and it is a wail that is cer-
tainly pitiable But the wail of the Corporation Party will
go unheeded b\ the labor vote for the wail of the labor vote
has long been unheeded by the Republican party.
Verily the G O. P.'s day of repentance came too
late.
JOHNSON A FRIEND TO EDMOND.
Primaries will be held next Tuesday to nominate condi-
dates for the vari ius offices now vacant. One of the most
important offices for which more than one candidate seeks
the Democratic nomination is State Senator from the I4lh
District, composed of Oklahoma and Canadian counties.
Senator W. H. Johnson, of Canadian county, Is up for re
nomination and asks the support of the democrats of this
district upon his rec rd last winter. Johnson went to the
first legislature to represent this district and he gave his
whole attention to watching our interests. Beirg a farmer
he kept a watchful eye upon every measure that could in
any possible way eftect the farmtrs of Oklahoma, Always
busy in committee or carefully studying the measures up
for consideration Johnson made a record for hard work
and honest effort. He let others touch off the fireworks
and olay to the gallaries and was content to give his time
to hard work in tehalf of his constitutents.
Edmond has a special reason for being loyal to Johnson.
He was ever watchful of our interests, By hard work and
conscientious effott he and Senator Stafford., also of this
district, succeeded in getting an $85,00)00 appropriation
for Central Normal out of the committee and through the
Senate but could not of course controll the House. As a
member of the Senate Committee on public buildings
Johnson lost no ODpcrtunity to urge Edmond's claims as the
center of education for Oklahoma and worthy the consider
ation of better facilities for handling the tv^r increasing
student body.
These things will commend Senator Johnson to the
people of this county for re nomination He has been
tried and found true and his work last winter deserves rec
ognition at this time. The democraUc voters of this
county should honor Johnson for what he is and what he
has done. When you go to the pri maries next Tuesday
remember that /Honest Bi!l Johnson's" name will appear
on the ticket as^candidate for re-nomination fcr State Sen-
ator and then vote for him
