tay in Chicago, and while he
meeting thousands of people dally, ha
gave the following reason for the re-
markable demand for his medicine to
a reporter:
Mr. Cooper said: "My New Discov-
ery is successful because it corrects
the stomach. My theory is that fetv
can be sick if the digestive apparatus
Is working properly. It naturally fol-
lows that few can be well with a poor
digestion.
-I know from experience that most
of the tired, half-sick people that are
so common now-a-days have half-sick
stomachs. Put the stomach in shape,

U general good health. My medicine
foes this. That is why fifty thousand
people here In Chicago are using it
who never heard of me until a month
ago."
Among the fifty thousand mentioned
by Mr. Cooper who used his medicine
n Chicago Is Mrs. Hilda Pflueger, liv-
ing at 1203 Alnslle Avenue. This is
the statement she makes concerning
her experience with the medicine:
"I have been sick fop six years with
I had severe pains in my stomach, and
also through my body. I could not
sleep at night and was very restless.
I was also very nervous, and would
have severe headaches. I was consti-
pated. and always felt bloated after
eating.
"1 had tried many remedies, but
could secure no relief, nntU one day I
noticed in the newspapers what won-
derful results Cooper's medicines were
accomplishing in Chicago. I decided
to try them, and shortly after com-
mencing the treatment I began to feel
better. I did not have those sever*
pains in my stomach, and I could sleep
at night; my appetite improved, and
I can now eat wall. I am feeling like
a new woman.
"I am very thankful to Mr. Cooper
for what his remedies have done tor
me. They have restored me to good
health, and I would advise any ons
who suffers as I did to try them."
We sell the Cooper medicines. They
are easily the most celebrated pre pa

The first step towards civilis-

no doubt arose from the neces-

The primitive man did this by
selecting a chief and surrender-

This is a serious question, and
which the possible results are
directly dependant on the tho-
roughness of such organisation.
A Democracy maintains that
all the-people are wiser than s
part of them. Political parties
are not organised for the pur-
pose of advancing the interests
of special individuals: and when
by a wave of hero worshiy the
individual proves more popular
than the under lying principles
of our goverment and reverting
to the obshlete patriarchial and
monarchial systems of autocracy
A people thoroughly imbued
ith certain principies will make
an issue of those principles
lhan bow to hero worship when
eisting their ballot. They will
lad the man to fit tho idea, one
who stands on his party platform
as a matter of principle; while a
repudiation of the party idea
and selections made from the
the ranks for personal reasons
only would take our attention
away from the live issues of to-
day found in our party platforms
if it threatens, as 1 have stated
the perpetuity of our form of
goverment, wherein lies the
blame?
I say without fear of succesful
contradiction that the crime of
a betrayed people and political
party pledges lies heavier on the
man who can not afford to mix
in politics" than it does on the
fellow with an ax to grind at the
public expense. The man who
is too upright to exercise bis
American citirenship by joining
his efforts with those few citizens
who are not so squeamish should
criticise others after he has
cleared himself of the responsi-
bility for these conditions.
In all fairness let me ask you.
Who are responsible? Were
you and your church members
at the precinct meeting of your
party? Have your church mem-
bers endeavered to np hold the
men who have been fighting a
long this line that you approve?
