What with the "Kissing Bugs" and

Every few days we see where peo-
ple have tied their horses where they
can get to the trees along our streets.
Citizens and farmers should get it in-
to their heads that there is a penalty
of for anyone who ties an animal
where It can destroy a tree along the
streets or alleys of this city. We
should have a day marshal who could
look after such matters.
The leeble attempt of the Univer-
sity hoodlums to deny the facts of
their assult upon the Central Normal
boys Is far fetched and but brands
them as something of liars as well as
wouldbe thugs. Several citizens of
this city were present at the time the
assault upon the Edmond boys was
pulled off. and they add their testi-
mony to that of the ball team as to
the brutal manner In which our boys
were treated.

The "Red McCarthy" trial has finally
been ended, and turned out as most
people suppcfted It would :a big fiasco.
••Red" McCarthy If he be alive, still
wanders the earth in mighty little fear
of the embryo detectives of this county.
Oklahoma tax payers have now paid
out several thousand dollars for the
purpose of learning that these so call
ed detectives are but little wiser than
owls, and it will be a cold day when
another '-Red" McCarthy is brought
to Oklahoma City upon their word
• that he is the man."

Many of our citizens are asking the
question every day, "How about band
concerts this summer?" It truly is
aDout time we were figuering on
concerts during the summer Saturday
evenings. Prof. Lehrer has been
putting In some hard licks in training
the band the past winter and has one
of the strongest organizations in the
territory It would be a treat to the
citizens as well as to the large num-
ber of people who come in from the
country to enjoy a concert one even-
ing out of the week It has been a
long time since we have been called
upon to help the local organization and
the merchants should contribute liberal-
ly to the boys should they render a
program each Saturday evening
