lawyers and farmers, his bondsmen
qualifying for something more than
1,600,000. The new state treasurer
assumed office Saturday. For the
last four days he has been busy
checking out the retiring treasurer,
and the work was completed Satur-
day. He receipted for securities and
other valuable papers to the amount
of $3,000,000, and for cash to the
amount of $750,000.
I secured a personal bond, signed
by Oklahoma people,' 'said Mr. Dun-
lop, "and they qualiifed, for a million
and a half dollars. Another thing I
intend doing is to keep the state's
funds In Oklahoma banks. Not a
dollar of it will go outside the state
to be deposited In outside banks. I
made that pledge during my campaign
and I Intend to keep It."
Saturday Mr. Dunlop selected the
banks In the state that would be the
state depositories. There are some
220 ill all. These must be approved
by the governor and the attorneygen-
eral.
So far, the treasurer's office has
transacted no business since the new
treasurer came into office, and the
first business will be transacted to-
day.
