Fire, which was started from some
unknown cause in the Chaney drug
store at Owassa, destroyed the Chaney
drug store and contents and also the
Palace hotel under the mauagment of
C. O. Kinney. The loss is estimated at

In Cimarron county a permanent
county seat was not selected at the re-
cent elec ion as no town received a
majority of the votes cast. Kenton is
the present county seat and has lost out
because Boise City and Dolby received
more votes than Kenton, and in the
second election only the leading towns
can get on the ticket.

The people of Washington county are
insisting that the regular term of court
lie held in that county during the hot
