Caucus Report Permits People to
Vote on County Seats.
Guthrie, Okla., Jan. 14.—Momen
county was left blank in county lines
report read by tht democratic caucus
and the people of the county may be
permitted to settle the fight between
Bristow and Sapulpa for the county
seat. The caucus will take action
on the entire report before it is sub-
mitted to the convention and an effort
is being made to turn down the com
mittee report and let the people locate
all the county seats.
The report as read to the caucus re-
quires a petition signed by forty per
cent of the voters before the governor
can call an election to remove any
county seat and a two-thirds vote to re-
move the seat.
This will cause a fight. The caucus
decided to accept the Leader amended
printing contract.

n Praise of Chamberlain's Cough
Remedy.
There is no other medicine inanufac.
tured that has received so much praise
and so many expressions of gratitude
as Chamberlain's Cough Remedy. It
is effective, and prompt relief follows
Its use. Grateful pprents everywhere
do not hesitate to testify to Its merits
for the benefit of others. It is a cer-
tain cure for crouo and will prevent
the attack If given at the first appear-
ance of the disease. It Is especially
adapted to children as it is pleasant
to take and contains nothing injurious.
Mr. E. A. Humphreys, a well known
resident and clerk in the store of Mr.
E. Lock, of Alice, Cape Colony, South
Africa, says: "I have used Chamber-
ain's Cough Remedy to ward ofT croup
and colds in my family. I found it to
be very satisfactory and it gives me
pleasure to recommend it." For sale

"A Cold or a Cough nearly always pro-
duces constipation—the water all runs to the
eyes, nose and throat Instead of passing out

Why Are They Punished ?
If some philanthropist were to start
s society for the prevention of cruelty
to rugs and carpets the entire male
population would rise up as one man
and become charter members.
It Is a mistake that man takes a
club and beats a rug beeanse he has
it in for the foot mat. He does It to
keep peace in the family. The wife
whom he has sworn to love calls his
attention about three times a day to
the fact that the rug needs beating,
an«l finally he takes ofT his coat and
administers punishment, although in
his own mind' there may be grave
doubts as to the rug's guilt.
Single handed and against the united
women of the household a man scarcely
dares to rise up in rebellion, but let
some one with nerve start a rugs' pro-
tective association and he will flock to
It as naturally as the genus hobo grav-
itates toward the free lunch counter.

Th summer rain descends in sheeta,

Of water on the pane—

More Than Two Million Bales in Ex

Washington, Jan. 14.—The census
bureau today issued a report on cot-
ton ginning showing that up to Jan.
1 there were 28,1199 active ginneries
in operation, and that 11,750,944 bales
had been ginned, compared with 9,-
725,421! bales in 1905, round hales
counted as half bales.
The work of the Oklahoma consti-
tutional convention thus far seems to
be genrally satisfactory to everybody
but the people. As the people are to
vote on it later, their dissatisfaction
Is of some importance.
