BRAKEMEN
ARE ARMED
For the past year there has been a
vicious lot of hoboes beating their way
through Indian Territory and they are
causing all sorts of trouble. Several
trainmen on the M. K. & T., line have
been killed while trying to put these
tramps off trains while they were stealing
rides. Mel Bowmen, private detective
for the railroad, says there is no account-
ing for the number of murders that have
occurred from this source. The tramps
seem to have it in for this line and when
they are thrown off by brakemen they
nearly always show fight. This has come
to such a point that a great many of the
trainmen have commenced to carry arms
as a matter of self protection.

The good things that enter into this stock cannot
be put into type so that you can get a full reali-
zation of their wor'.h. The newspaper can an-
nounce them and tell you what's good about
them—that's all. It remains for you to form a
part conclusion—get the goods and try them.
Our canned fruits and vegetables are just one of
this class of goods that baffles description, but a
taste or a dishful of them will do what the print
fails to, and will show you that they're the sort
that "touches the spot."

Showery,
Following a hot day, one of the hot-
test of the season, Sunday evening a
light rain fell, though in most places it
was not sufficient to lay the dust. It
did, however, cool the air to a consider-
