OUT IN CALIFORNIA
The Triennial Conclave of Knights
Templar will be held in the early
Fall. Thousands are going. It's a
good time. There is no doubt but
that all good Americans desire to see
the Golden State some time. 1 lere's
an opportunity. Is there anything
to prevent your taking advantage of
the exceptionally low rates announced
for this occasion?
Argenta and Shawnee have not|
closed and will not be," said a high of-
fical of the Rock Island today. "There,
as at all other points on our system
where we have shops, wc have reduced
forces and shortened hours temporarily.
The reason is that we had previously
rushed repairs on all equipment to have
it in first-class shape against the begin-
ning of tlie movement of the new crops.
Owing to the damage done winter wheat
.by floods and other causes, that move-
ment is from two or three weeks late in
starting this year, and the repaired
equipment has not been placed in use.
As soon as this movement begins all our
shops will be again placed 011 full time.
The laid-off men w.ll all be reemployed
and new hands will be engaged, as we
will need larger forces the coming year
than previously. While the winter wheat
crop will be short, other crops, corn, cot-
ton and small grains, will more than
make up the deficiency. Oklahoma this
year will ship corn for the first time in
its history. All indications now point to
a more prosperous year than last.
"It is nonsense to say that traffic is be.
ing diverted from the Choctaw to the
main line. There is 110 longer any Choc-
taw. It is simply a division of the Rock
Island system. Of course when traffic
originates on the Choctaw and can be
sent over the Rock Island, rather than
over a competing line, it is done, just as
traffic front the main line is turned over
to the Choctaw at a point from which it
will get the longest haul out of it. The
system is being operated as a whole and
not as disconnected parts
"It is absolutely untrue that the Rock
Island is getting into hard lines finan-
cially. Its earnings, in common with
those of other systems throughout the
country were reduccd last year, and
wherever possible, in accordance with
strict business principles, the expenses
have been reduced accordingly. I hat is
all there is to it. We expect the new
fiscal year to be more prosperous than
the one just closed."

I ONE WOMAN AMONG THOUSANDS
We received a letter front Waycross, Ga
from a woman who had been troubled
with female complaint for a long time,
until she was reduced almost a shadow.
It effected her mind, she could not re-
member anything, would get confused
and so nervous and irritable she could
hardly sleep. She described her case as
one similar to thousands of other women,
and then ends the letter by saying she
had gained 18 lbs. last month and never
feltbettcr in her life, having no trace of
her former troubles, slept well, aud ate
her meals with a relish. She commenced
the use of Dr. Gunn's Blood and Nerve
Tonic just six weeks before she wrote the
letter from which wc copy the above.
This tonic is in tablet form, and should
be taken right after meals. It turns the
food you eat into strong, rich blood,
feeding the nerves and curing disease by
making healthy flesh. Sold by all drug-
gists for 75c per box, or 3 boxes for fJ
Pale, weak, thin people should use this
tonic.
