The Rock Creek cemetery south
of town has been cleaned off by
our citizens and now lacks a neat

Santo cattle hustlers, have been
here several days looking after
their cattle business. They seem
to be well pleased with Talihina
and expect to ship cattle from
here in the near future.
Deputy Marshal Board came
down froin South Mc Alester Tues-
day to act in the place of F. M.
Brewer who lias been sick during
the past few days, but we are glad
to say thut he found Mr. Brewer
able to attend to the business
himself.
Bert Emmert, who has been be-
hind the counter at Dr. Miller's
drug store for sotne time past, took
the train Sunday for Hacket City,
Ark., where he will enter the
Hackett High School. Bert is in-
dustrious and bright and wu pre-
dict for him a bright future.
Tho Talihina string band, con-
sisting of Messrs. Boyer, Need-
bam and Dr. A. M. Chambers, reg-
ular mombers, and Messrs. Head-
rick Mid M. E. Rosser, honorary
mombers, weut out on a serenade

Miss Emma Ragan has returned
from an extended visit to her
home. She comes to take charge
of lrcr music class again. Miss
Ragan has few equals as a music
teacher, and we should feel proud
to have such an one in our midst.

o'clock, the guests at tho Hotel j

the hustling of the guests getting
their effects together Mr. Delia-

But, as he (the evil one) did not
putin his appearance, Johu Iiv-
pue seized his boss pistol and
with the agility of Mr. Muse's
mule (named jack) ho sprang out
on the roof and leveled nis
shooter at several white objects
which upon closer investigation
proved to be Messrs. Rosser, Dr.
Chambers and Prof. Hancy, who
wore gazing at tho moon which
wus in eclipse.
Cruel moon ! why couldn't you
wait till winter to go into eclipse!
Peace again reigns at tho hotel.

Wo, the udersigned, having been
appointed a committee to draft res-
olutions upon the death of our es-
teemed brother G. W. Brown, who
departed this life on Saturday
evening, June 28, at 8 P. M., 1895.
Whereas, It has pleased our
Heavenly Father, in His infinite
wisdom, to take from us our
brother, G. W. Brown, who was
an activo worker in the lodge:
therefore be it
Resolved, That the lodge has
lost one of its most faithful and
earnest members, and we mourn
Ills loss and extend to the bereaved
family our sympathy iu their sad
afiliction.
