Having learned from reliable
parties that there was a man go-
ing from town to town, along the
Frisco Itailroad through the In-
dian Territory, representing, or
rather soliciting order* for whis-
key to be shipped from our houso.
We would like to say through the
columns of your paper, that lie is
a fraud, and we hereby wain all
people to look out for bim, as we
send out uo solicitors from our
house, and if any officer will arrest
said party, we will prosecute him
to the fullest extent of the law.
Respectfully,
H'trper Bros.
It seems that in the account of
the arrest of Dr. J. M. Chambers
last week, we stated the case a
little too strongly, a* the specific
charge iu tho warrant of arrest
was a simple assault, instead of an
assault to commit rupe. Tho case
went before commissioner Halley,
at Antlers, lust Thursday, (Dec. ti).
After a full examination by the
Judge, Dr. t'humbers was bound
over to await the action of the
grand jury, in tho Bum of 8200,
which was readily given. Con-
sidering the gravity of the charge,
the amount of bond required ap-
pears small, and to an unbiased
person it looks us if Judge Halley
did not think there was a great
deal in it. The action of tho grand
jury is awaited with much interest
by tho people of this community.
