A business man in Uushton re-
ceived a catalogue some ten days
ago, and among other things quoted
was sugar at 05 per 100 pounds,
and guaranteing the price to remain
the same to September 1. Said bus
iness mau iniuiediately sent them Ins
check for ?4,il5. expecting thereby
to save $2.85, as sugar was selling
that day in Bushton for ?7.60 He
tilted hack in lus olliee chair with a
smile on his face and remarked to
us later m the day how easily he
had made a day's wages without
working. And each day as the price
ot sugar advanced the smile became
broader until yesterday, when he re.
ceived a letter and firm's check for
charging him, supposedly,
twenty cents for the handling of his
check and fo" advice consisting ot
the information that food products
had increased almost double in price
during the past 15 days on aucouut
of the war. They otrered, however,
to send hira a -5 pound §ack ol su.
