Western Federation of Miners
May Take Radical Action
Denver. Colo., June 19.—The conven-
tion of the Western Federation of Miners
continued today the discussion of the
amendment to the constitution prohibit-
ing the local unions from making libor
contracts with the operators. There was
a bitter controvery between the con-
servatives who oppose the amendment
and the radicals. Many locals have con-
tracts with the operators, the Dutte un-
ion having one for five years. If the
amendment should prevail and Anally be*
come a part of the constitution after a
referendum vote, all these contracts
would have to be rescinded and much
confusion wpuld prevail.
