passes; hut the road from Tulsa to
Sapulpa Is a dis.-race to loth places.
You rr.ay say we propose to im-
prove it and I hope we will do so;
'. but the realization of that hope seems
but fair.t-
Okn-.ulree county is really prcpar-
lr.g to build more than a hundred
miles of ro'lt roads. What is Tulsa
ar. I Tulsa county dolr.s? Just pull-
ing the sand together month after
month only to have it furrowed and
l rutted into almost Impassable thoro-
fares.

' but I am sorry to say that there are
several counties r.ear us where the
roads were better month after
month the past year than ours. True.
Tulsa cour.ty has far more traffic on
her roads and this cuts them Into
their terrible condition but this very
fact makes it imperative that we
build our roads from different mate-
rial build roads that will meet the
1 present reiuirorr.tr.tj and those tf the
future.
I am proud cf Tulsa and the Tulsa
pint but I am ashamed of our roads.
I sincerely hope we are not to lose
the oiark trail but I fear there Is
very little merit in what we have
actually done on which we can even
hope to win it.
