scrupulously follows every dav and
she doesn't like to have it in til for ed

She has a friend w ho when she cots
lonesome or feels the imperative im-
pulre to gossip s In the habit or
calling her ip over the telephone and
holding her with a long chatty mono-
logue which while It lriiht have
contained some items of interest at

fere with her daily efficiency pro-
gram but also to get s.'riouMy upon
her nerves.
Now this friend was a very dear
one and she did not want to offend
her. the practical little woman wa
sorely troubled for quite a while to
scheme a way an efficient wavin
escape that daily telephonic sacrifice
of her time and patience .without
nurrjng ner iriena's feelings.
Chance showed her the way as she
explained in strict confidence to an-
other dear friend the other day.
