Luther Hainleu received word
Friday of the accidental death of
a brother's child, iu Indiana. It
seems the little one, who was about
three years of age, was trying to
climb thru a fence and fell into a
water trough The child was
dead when found.
Carrie Habtie went to Wichita
Thursday evening for a few weeks
visit with relatives aud friends
Her mother will join her about
t' e 1st. of September, when they
expect to leave for Los Angeles,
California, to spend the winter
with their son aud brother, Chas.

Phil Nicholson has the honor of
opening the cotton market having
brought in the first load of cotton

sold to Geo. Phalen for 4c per
pound. Mr. Nicholson has GO
acres of cotton on the Coxson
ranch which very likely will make
a bale to the acre. Nicholson
one of the best cotton farmers

Miss Perrill Munch and her

Mr. and Mrs Fred Ehler left
Saturday night for the Eastern
Markets, to buy their fall stock of
goods. They stopped at Kansas
City, St. Louis and Chicago, and
will also visit Mrs. Ehler's old
home in Illinois before returning
