Frantz, statehood and a square
deal is the winning slogan.
There is just one thing which
, can make Nowata forget politics
—the cement factory.
The unanimous nomination of
Frank Frantz for governor and
the splendid harmony prevailing
in the republican party is caus-
ing consternation in the ranks of
the. democrats
■TOh, where is my wandering
dbg tonight,” has been the title
of many a wish this week, and a
six shooter shot about day light
was the reply. City Marshal
has been increasing the popula-
tion of dog heaven.
The great democratic cry is,
‘‘Down with carpet bagger rule.”
Now, Mr. Democrat, before you
tember, working for the success
of the state and county ticket.
The men named by the repub-
lican party of Nowata county to
occupy the court house under
the state government are all men
worthy of support. There is not
an incapable man on the ticket.
There is not a man on the ticket
whose record is not clean and
spotless.
Electing the entire republican
ticket of Nowata county to office
will give the tax payers a
thoroughly capable, efficient set
of men at the head of public af-
fairs. Electing them will assure
the tax payers that their interests
will be well looked after and the
business of the county will be
transacted in an honest, satis-
factory manner.

and the party whies appointed
him to office?”
Already, in old Oklahoma,
democrats and their backers—
isually the men with the coin—
■ re playing dirty politics. With
me vilest kind of personal abuse
is his principal weapon Haskell
beat Cruce for the nomination,
md now he and his friends are
beginning to use the same
weapon on their republican
opponents. The effect will be
different.
OUR COUNTY TICKET
The Advertiser is proud of the
Nowata county ticket. It is a
winner.
Every republican in Nowata
county will join the Advertiser
in this pride.
The ticket was honestly and
honorably nominated. Working
just as hard for republican suc-
cess as the candidates them
selves will be found every man
-who was disappointed in not
receiving a nomination. Ibeic
are no sore spots, no hard feel-
ings, no enmities.
The republican party of Nowa-
ta county is united. Eveiy
worker is in accoid.
And every republican will be
found in the harness from now
until the seventeenth day of Sep-
Standing on sound solid prin-
ciples and backing as a fine a set
of men as ever were placed be-
fore the people the republican
voters of this county have every
reason to feel certain of success.
The election is near at hand
and a whirlwind campaign will
have to be made.
The republican party in this
county wall conduct its campaign
on clean, dignified lines. The
party has the votes and the only
thing necessary to over-
whelmingly defeat the democrats
—who w ill run on the Haskell
platform—is to get out the vote.

New Bank Starts Well
The Cherokee State bank, recently
_ ’ganized and established in Lenapah,
northern metropolis of northern No-
wata county, has made a most splendid
start. J. A. Kidd, organizer and
cashier of the new institution, is one
of the best known and most popular
men in the northern part of the coun-
ty. The Cherokee State bank has as
its officers and directors men who
stand at the top in their neighbor-
hoods and whose reputations for
square dealing are beyond reproach.
Cashier Kidd says that he feels
there is a fertiie field for his bank in
Lenapah and the surrounding country.
Its success is already assured and
Democrats Make New Nomination
The democratic committee, in
session here last week, placed the
name of BertVanLeuven.who recently
came here from Muskogee, where he
was connected with the Dawes com-
mission, on the ticket as the party
candidate fer probate judge. He is
a pretty good sort of a fellow, a first
class lawyer and too good a man to
be sacrificed that his party may run a
full ticket in the election next month
At Claremore Saturday the joint
convention of Rogers and Nowata
counties nominated C. W. Strain, the
heavy weight Wann banker, for state
senator from this district. Strain
was nominated in the old district at
