Preparedness
A borrower cannot afford to be crowded when hard
times come. Then least of all he can arrange his affairs
or di-pose of his property without great sacrifice so as to
meet his obligations dollar for dollar. But when a bank
at such times has exhausted its cash reserve and has used
ita credit to its full capacity it has absolutely no other
course in order to meet the demands of its depositors but
to crowd its loans.
In a pinch depositors must be considered first, but a
careful bank aims to protect not only its depositors, but
also its borrowers. It believes in preparedness while
times are still good. A large reserve is one of the surest
preparations a bank can make for the protection of its
borrower*.
The Citizens State Bank always carries a large re-
serve of cash and sight exchange, the largest of any bank
in Southwestern Oklahoma.
