i. *rts glad. Where as it is, they >
have to drink gyp, or some othei |
water, that is not good for the j
health or taste.
In my rounds I ask some one j
why there were so many beauti-
ful hom«s? The answer was
simple enough. These people
have lived in Oklahoma City and
drank her muddy water as long
as they could stand it. They
wanted to get out of this dirty,
expensive place, and as \ ukon
was only a fifteen minutes' ride,
they decided to go to a much
nicer place to reside and still
hold their ;business in a larger
place. I asked this party what
they were getting for lots? None;
to be bought closc in—all sold.,
The first jump they made after j
<lie waterworks were in were
double what they first started at, j
.\ d the starting place was the j
iDctra tax which had been added
Tor the improvements of the j
city. The next person I met!
was Mr. Bob Farris. He had a|
£rin on hi* face when he said: j
"Well, we have (juit digging!
<U.U'hes; the last one wc dug was;
better than the lirat one. In j
rjghteen months it was full of j
aunflowcrs and we gave it up. j

Roosevelt'® Europeans are of course greatly
protected by their clothing, and
; in infected districts like Kavir-

the way of veils, mosquito-net-
ting, ect., and unguents which
repel insect attacks. I relied on
an emulsion of vasolinc and icth-
yol, applied freely to the face
and neck and to the wrists when
not protected by gloves.- J'oter
