THK POWBH OF WHISKEY.
Under the caption, "The Power
of Whiskey," the Enid Events
of the dark and devious ways of
the Oklahoma legislature In the
following manner:
"An Enid man was in Guthrie
on Monday, February 20, 1905.
He met a member of the lower
house of the legislature, with
whom he was acquainted. 'Come
with me,' said the legislator, 'and
I will take you to a place where
you can get the best whisky ever
brought to Oklahoma.' The Enid
man, who does not drink, went,
for a purpose. The legislator
took him straightway to the office
of a well known railway attorney
at Guthrie. Tlioy walked in; the
legislator asked at the outer office
if Mr.- was iu. The sten
ographer said, 'nay.' The legisla
lor then told the Enid man to fol
low him; they went into the inner
office, the holies of holies—scheme
sanctoriuoij the hatchery of in
tngues and of ways that are dark
and deals that smell loud as unto
a cartload of refuse—and there he
pushed aside a curtain (asthougl
tie had been there oft before)
pulled |orth a jug of whiskey, of
fered it to his friend and took
some himself. On Tuesday, Feb
21, 11KJ5, the fellow servant bill
was killed. And do we wonder?
No, not much! But it do beat
the Dutch."
THE LIVER QUARANTINE

^Ttorried enting baa ruined mnnr a tnan'f
Mutnach. The digestion-destroying pro-
ce is gradual, often unnoticed at first.
But it is only a short time until the liver
balki, the dltftatire organ* ipve way, and
almost countless ills assail the tunn who
endeavors to ecooomixe time at the ex-
pense of his health.
qA torpid liver csuses a quarantine of the
entire system. It locks in the diseased
germs and body poisons and affords them
full play, inviting some eerious illness,
qin famillss where August Flower is used
a sluggish lirer and constipation are un-
known, so are ail stomach ailments, as
well as indigestion, dyspepsia, heartburn,
headaches and kidney and binder affec-
tions. No well-regulated family should
be without this standard remedy,
