An Increase of attendance at the Cap-

enrolled in November than in October,
while the Manner school shows an in-

tween the Capital and Banner schools
always been keen and before the
month recntly ended, the Banner school
has k-.pt consistently in the lead, but
the Capita! school has forged ahead of
the Banner and now has a lead of 16.

As soon as word was received here
yesterday of the quarantining nf the
Stewart hotel in Oklahoma City, fol-
lowing the discovery of two cases of
smallpox among guests, Chairman E.
J. Overholzer of the county board of
commissioners, communicated with the
city and county superintendent of
health and suggested that measures be
taken to minimize the risk of any in-
fected persons breaking through the
quarantine and coming to Guthrie and
to prevent debarkation of any who may
not have been quarantined there but
appear to bear signs of the plague.
ARRESTS WITHOUT WARRANTS.
Under a health law, passed by the
last legislature, the city police depart
im nt, constabulary, marshal's ford
and the sheriff or his deputies lias th
power to arrest, without warrant, anj
suspicious looking arrivals and ke i
them segregated until it can he posi
tlvely ascertained whether they hav
been affected by the disease.
The county superintendent accord
Ingly notified the police, chief to In - i
struct his men that they would be |x-
pected to see all arrivals and hail
authority to place them under arrest;
if any circumstances seemed to war-
rant such action. Every incoming train
will be met and the arrivals closely!
scrutinized.
NO DANGER APPREHENDED.
It is not. anticipated here that the
number of cases in Oklahoma City willj
be increased by others coming to light,
but if this occurs, and stringent mc.is-|
