BEVERLY, Muss.. Sept. 11.—Beverly
was crowded as never before this af-
ternoon when President Taft from a
stand, erected in front of the city hall,
reviewed a parade of some 1,600
Grand Army men belonging to posts
In this vicinity.
At the time the president entered the
reviewing stand, accompanied by Gov-
ernor Draper, ot Massachusetts, and
Mayor Trowe, ol' Beverly, tin- throng'
completely blocked t'abot street and
it looked for a time as though the pa-|
rade would nuve to be abandoned. j
Once the crowd caught sight of the;
chief executive, however, and had
cheered for several minutes, betteri
order prevailed.
