Brief Outline of Flan
Winners of prizes will be decided by popular vote of the read-
ers of the Daily and Weekly State Capital, and friends of contest-
ants.
A nomination blank good for 1,000 votes when properly P'oa
out with name and address of contestant and mailed to Contest
Department, State Capital, Guthrie, Oklahoma, will entitle you to
1,000 votes. A free voting coupon good for 5 votes will be pub-
lished daily until further notice.
You will receivo credit for all free coupons you and your
friends can gather if received by Contest Department before date
of expiration printed thereon.
Date on free coupons will be changed daily.
Certificate votes will be issued for all paid in advance subscrip-
tions to the Daily and Weekly State Capital as per schedule below.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE.
Any person of good character residing within the State of Ok-
lahoma is eligible to enter this contest. You can enter yourself or
any friend or relative by clipping out the nomination blank pub-
lished daily and filling it in with name and address of contestant
and the number of the district and mailing same to Contest De-
partment, State Capital, Guthrie Okla. This nomination blank will
give you a pood start. On receipt of nomination, subscription re-
ceipt books and report blanks will be sent you together with com-
plete information how to proceed to win a prize.
You will be given every assistance possible and guaranteed an
absolute square deal from start to finish. The contest will be con-
ducted and will end with absolute fairness to all and partiality
to none.
How to Get Votes
Send in your nomination today. You will find a nomination
blank printed on this page which is good for 1,000 votes and will
give you a good start. Only one nomination blank accepted for
each contestant.
Enlist the aid of your neighbors and friends, also your neigh-
bors' neighbors and your friends' friends.
Use your telephone and a little postage. Let every one know
tyou are a candidate. DO IT NOW before the other fellow gets
ahead of you.
Be ambitious, be determined to win, and everybody will be
anxious to help you.
Votes will be given on both new and old subscrrptions when
paid in advance.
Call on or send to the State Capital Co. for receipt books and
report blanks.
Contest Manager will be glad to have you call or write so he
can explain anything you do not thoroughly understand.

DISTRICT PRIZES.
The First District Prizes will be Five Trips to tha Alaska-
Yukon Pacific Exposition at Seattle or the equivalent in cash
$125.00 each.
Second District Prizes—Five Solid Gold Watches, either Ladies'
or Gentlemen's—cash value $85.00 each.
The Ladies' Watch is 0 size, 14k. Solid Gold with fine 17 jewel
Elgin or Waltham movement, and a genuine diamond set in back
of case.
Gentlemen's Watch is 16 size. 14k. Solid Gold hand-made case,
cither plain or engine turned, with very fine 17 jewel Elgin or

ENTER THE BIG CONTEST.
This is the most gigantic voting contest ever undertaken in
the State of Oklahoma.
The state will be divided into five districts.
EVERY CONTESTANT WINS A PRIZE
As all contestants will be allowed to retain 10 per cent, of all
money collected. This liberal offer alone should induce many to en-
ter the contest, as 10 per cent of collections should more than pay
all expense of securing votes.
Conditions of Contest
Anyone wishing to solicit subscriptions during this contest
will be required to furnish us the recommendation of two or more
persons residing in their community.

No employe or near relative of an employe of the Daily or
Weekly State Capital can become a contestant.
The State Capital reserves the right to withdraw or reject the
name of any contestant deemed objectionable and to settle any
disputed point that may arise.
No votes may be transferred from one contestant to another.
No contestant will be credited with more than one nomina-
tion blank.
No votes are for sale, as the only votes that count are issued
with paid in advance subscriptions to the Daily and Weekly State
Capital and the free votes that appear in the papers.
Under no conditions will votes be allowed for subscriptions
not paid in advance. For subscriptions from parties whose account
is in arrears, only one-half the number of votes allowed for old
subscribers will be given.
After the publication of the first list of contestants the vote
for each one will bo published at frequent intervals and daily dur-
ing the last two weeks of the contest.
1 he counting will be done daily and each announcement will
include all votes received up till 12 o'clock (noon) the day previous.
In the event of a tie vote between any two contestants the
value of the prize will be equally divided between them.
At the close of the contest the ballots will be counted by a
committee of well known business men of Guthrie whose reputa-
tion for honesty and upright dealing is unquestioned.
The contest is open to any respectable person residing within
the State of Oklahoma.
It costs nothing to enter the race.
The contest will close Sept. 6, 1909, at midnight.

How the Prizes are Awarded
The three grand prizes will be awarded as follows: '
Tho contestant receiving the largest number of votes in any
district will be awarded the Kimball l'iano.
The $200.00 perfect diamond will be awarded to the contest-
ant receiving the second largest number of votes, regardless of
district limitations.
The third prize, the $175.00 Moon Bros, will be award-Buggy,
ed tvc third highest contestant.
The district prizes will be awarded to the two contestants re-
ceiving the largest number of votes in each district after the grand
prizes have been awrarded. Provided, the total vote of highest con-
testant in any district does not fall below 50 per cent, of tho high-
est vote in any other district after the prizes have been awarded.
Positively no contestant can win more than one prize.
While it is necessary that a candidate compete in the district
in which he or she resides, it is not compulsory that the subscrip-
tions be secured only within the district limitations. Subscriptions
may be secured anywhere in the United States and votes will be
allowed in the same proportion as though the subscriptions were
secured within the district in which the contestant resides.
Each district is separate and distinct from the others and all
any contestant has to do to win a first district prize is to secure
the largest number of votes in his or her particular district
The contestants securing the second largest number of votes
in each of the five districts will receive the second district prize.
Provided: th? vote cast by each of the two highest contestants
in any district does not fall below 50 per cent of the vote of the
two highest contestants in the other districts, after the district
prizes have been awarded. Should that condition arise, the prizes
for that particular district will be awarded to the highest contest-
ants regardless of district limitations.

District No. 1 comprises all of Logan county.
District No. 2—Counties of Osage, Pawnee, Creek, Okmulgee,
Tulsa, Washington, Nowata, Craig, Ottawa, Delaware, Mayes,
Rogers, Wagoner, Muskogee, Cherokee, Adair, Lincoln.
District No. 3—Counties of Okfuskee, Seminole, Hughes, Pitts-
burg, McIntosh, Haskell, Sequoyah, LeFlore, McCurtain, Choctaw,
Pushmataha, Latimer, Atoka, Bryan, Marshall, Johnston, Coal, Pon-
totoc.
District No. 4—Counties of Pottawatomie, Cleveland, McClain,
Garvin, Murray, Carter, Love, Jefferson, Stephens, Grady, Caddo,
Comanche, Tillman, Jackson, Greer, Kiowa, Washita, Oklahoma, Cana-
dian.
District No. 5—Counties of Kingfisher, Garfield, Grant, Alfalfa,
Major, Blaine, Custer, Dewey, Woodward, Woods, Harper. Beaver, Ellis.
