and Oklahoma City resulted in au un-
qualified defeat for the former. The
score was i:t to C. Young, who ap-
peared on the slab for Oklahoma City

1 olbert, a well known deputy I nited
State? marshal, who died at Ills home
in Weleetka the first ot the week ft as
yesterday buried at Clarksville; Ark.
Bud Ledlietter. now on Marshal
Bennett's force, was a close friend ot
the deceased and with him had taken
part In the capture of many criminals
whose names were a watehward all
over the southwest. Mr. Tolbert
came htf e from Georgia w hen
young man. about fifteen years ago
when this country was for the most
part a refuge for criminals from all
parts of the country
Mr. Tolbcrt was one of the party
which killed the famous Ned Christy,
a Cherokee desperado, at the Rabbit
Trap, in the northeast part of the na-
tion. in 1892. In the same year he
killed San Rowe, a man, who. like
many others, faced death more gladly
than capture, in the same Neighbor-
hood as Christy had met his death.
Henry Starr, he of harrowing mem-
ory feared no man more than Paden
Tolbert. who was ever on his trial.
Tolbert was on the Katy train when
the famous holdup was made Hix miles
north of here ten years ago. and he
