Special Dispatch to the Stale Capital.
Denver Colo., Dec. 29.—George War-
ren, of Albuquerque, N. M . is not
pleased with the report of Senator Bev-
eridge on the statehood bill. He said
last night:
"Prom the time Senator Beveridge
struck the south end of Raton tunnel
on his entrance until ho went skipping
through the rich and lovely Pecos val-
ley at night and crossed the eastern
boundary on his departure, hia every
energy was given to the collection of
data Injurious to the cause of New
Mexico, and apparently ignoring every-
thing of credit to us.
"It would appear to an observer that
this committee, with the exception of
one member, made its Junket for no
purpose but to secure ammunition for
the fight against a people who have
always responded to appeals of the
government in time of trouble, and
who are as capable of administering
their own affairs as those living on
the banks of the Wabash.
"Beveridge undoubtedly knows more
of New Mexico and of Its needs (from
Beverldge's point of view) than all the
residents of the territory combined.
"Fortunately then, men of such great
mental caliber and comprehensive
grasp of all things as Beveridge (from
Beverldge's standpoint) are few.
