Its chief executive, Win. McKinlcy,
president:
And if is fitting and proper that this
city should make a public expression
of the unusts I sorrow for the greatest
bereavement that th • nation could suf-
fer;
I Jas. Geary, acting mayor, do pro-
claim to the citizens of Oklahoma City
the grief that the public feels in the
death of our beloved president, and it
he required that from the hour of high
noon this day until one o'clock, all busi-
Oes.t In the city be suspended, and that
all business houses be closed;
That nil public officers suspend their
functions and that each residence and
business plaee be draped in the em-
blems of mourning for this universal
loss;
That all citizens be requested to at-
tend the houses of worship on Sunday,
September 15th;
That a session of the city council be
held Monday, September 16th to draft
suitable resolutions in honor of the
dead.
Given under my hand and the seal of
th city of Oklahoma City, this 14th day
of September, A. L . 1901.
JAS. GEARY,
Acting Mayor.
Every business house draped the
front and closed doors during the time
mentioned. Business was dull all day,
and a general expression of sorrow was
heard. The heavy hanging clouds add-
ed to the general depression.

Why has
now become the leader
of all package coffees?
And why is it used in
millions of homes ?
Because it does not
sail under false colors.
It is an absolutely clean,
pure coffec. No glazing,
no coating with egg
mixtures or chemicals
in order to hide imper-
fections.
Just try a package of
Fl
and you will under-
stand the reason of its
popularity.
In every package of LION COFFEE you will find a fully illustrated and descriptive
list. No housekeeper, in fact, no woman, man, boy or girl will fail to find in the list some article
which will coritribute to their happiness, comfort and convenience, and which they may have by
a simply cutting out a certain number ot Lion Heads from the wrappers of our one pour-d scaled
3 packages (which-is the only form in which this excellent coffee is sold).
