The movement of County Attorney
Jones and .Sheriff Rhnehart against the
Wunk-a-Tonk -will be endorsed by prac-

petitioned for and gran . d yesterday
in the district court. The 'temporary
writ was served by the sheriff, but was
<14*rtbeyed hast night by the proprietors.
Judge Htirford will probacy see th.1

temporary injunction permanent will
be heard hater in the week, when evi-

This place has been an i ye-soro to
the town f >r several years. It has ex-
isted because the proprietors were early
day residents wh have h id i hard lot
and many sumpathiz. d with them and
wanted them to have a chance to gno
"out of the lvole." They -are out now.
Their -mortgage is paid off, we under-
sttuind, and to olose them will do the
town much good and not bankrupt th
proprietors; in fact, 'the property it
•occupies will double in value the day
this blot up*m the town is permanently
closed. Harrison avei ue Is being de-

attorney and the short IT are backed up

A syndicate i.f Kasfteni brewers is
to put in a plant in San Francisco for
the purpose of shipping beer to China
anil the 1'hilipplines. This fact fore-
casts the time or temperance crusades
of tlie Chinese W. C. T. U„ male ora-
tion and the Salvation Army. All these
so with beer. Think of HI—Chinese
wwnen parading tlhe streets to make
the rtiloons close.
ft would probably be well to forestall
tht.se things by sending missionaries
ahead of ttone, and telling the China-
men not to drink beer. But that would
probaldy be useless.
