The yield of corn In Oklahoma this
year will be the Kreatest ever known
am.ing the territory's his crops, ji. n.
Hugan, during his recent visit to Kan-
sas City, talked with a number of the
big cattle men about the stock yards,
*h" Informed hint that on account of
Oklahoma's Immense com crop a large
number of cattle would be fed in the
territory this winter, tine commission
Arm with whom he talked, Geo. n.
Bars.- & Co., told him they had up to
thin time sold 9.000 head of cattle to
be fed on Oklahoma corn this winter.
Several thousand head on the Ponca,
Osage and the other Indian reserva-
tions will come into the territory to be
fed over winter. Mr. Hagan is receiv-
Ulg numerous letters from cattlemen
making inquiry about feeding catlle
at the oil mill here. In letters recMved
yesterday one feeder wants to arran*?
lor 1.000 head; another for 1,100 head.
With the prospect In view of having
thousands of heads of cattle to feed
the coming winter Oklahoma fanners
will And a ready market for their im-
mense corn crop. What the acreage is
cannot be estimated with reasonable
accuracy, but in addition to the usual
acreage, much land that was planted
to wheat was afterward re-planted to
corn w hen It was found that the wheat
had made a poor stand, and many far-
mers In eastern Oklahoma, dissatisfied
with the low price of cotton hist year
planted less cotton and more corn this
year. There is corn everywhere of the
best quality and the yield will be
large.
