The business men of Calvin have peti-
tioned the Rock Island railroad to help
them get a crossing on the Canadian
river near that place. Their plan is to
hang a wagon bridge onto the railroad
bridge, which they claim can be doue at
a very small expense. The railroad coni-
p.i ny is now considering the matter.
Statehood Bill, who has retired from
the limelight after a long and turgid en-
gagement, is to be followed, it is assert-
ed, by the artful Jerry Mauder. Jerry
will not remain with us as long as Will-
iam, but unless headed off threatens to
mix things up amazingly while he do^'s
stay.—Holdenville Times.
