THE VOTE OF 1900.
Many readers have forgotten what
the vote on delegate to congress in
Oklahoma was two years ago. It was:
B>" C. H. Griswold, Deputy.
Ret1 red gentleman, middle aged,
worth $98,000, also beautiful home,
seeks at once, poor but fr'thful wife.
Address Mr. Belmont, 40 Dearbon St.,

and a Democratic lower house of con-
gress will force the Republican sen
ate to give Oklahoma statehood at the
December session. They know
would never do to let statehood go
over to the next congress with the
lower house Democratic. It would be
political suicide, and rather than do
that they will redeem their pledges
and give us statehood at this second
session of the present congress. It
requires no sledge hammer argument
to beat this into the brain of any sen-
sible man. The immediate statehood
people have it ln their power to force
this question at the meeting of con-
gress in December. Will they use that
power while they have the opportuni-
ty by voting for Col. Cross? This is
not an appeal to prejudice, oi for pros
attitude on every political Issue, made
„ favorable and lasting impression
upon the entire assemblage That he
Is a citizen of Oklahoma, and has paid
taxea here for five years, was proven
without a doubt'. That he Is a man
of strong Intellect and an orator of no
mean ability, was demonstrated to =
tho satisfaction of every fair minded
man present. Men who have heard
Flynn during h)a campaign tour of:
this territory for the last two elec-
Ions, aver that Cross is a more able
talker than he.
The accusations of the Republican
party, assailng his English, his over-
alls. and his record as a rebel soldier,
are gaining him strength every day
as he is permitted to meet the people
of the territory, and unveil to them
the truth He is making friends ev-
ery where, and this county can safely
bo counted in with the many others
that, will roll up a large majority for
him in November
Following Mr. Cross, Judge Gore de-
livered a masterly address, touching
upon all the paramount Issues con-,
fronting the American voters of today.
It was delivered in his usual eloquent
style, and was perhaps the greatest,
effort ever made In this county. The
two parties are perfectly united In
this county and the entire ticket will
stand an excellent chance of election.
