Spring Is Here
Birds are chirping—Bud? are opening—Young
folks are falling in love—the whine of the vaeum
sweeper fills the air—Dad is out in the back yard
digging worms—Johnny has had three strikes call-
ed on him over on the vacant lot.
HERE'S A TIP-
How about that "glassed in" sleeping porch you
promised wife or was it a new garage you were go-
ing to build this spring, perhaps it is an up to date
poultry house you need. Did you notice the new
lattice fence your neighbor built last week? It im-
proved the looks of the place. Don't you need one?

Paint and Varnish.
Buying an inferior grade of paint or hiring a
cheap painter to do your work is not the best way to
save the surface or your money. High quality makes
low c< st per yard! Select your paint for the Service
it will give you—not by the price per gallon. Good
paint cannot be low-priced, pure Lintseed Oil is too
expensive. We know B. P. S. Paint will give satis-

Rents Will Remain High
Despite the Fact that farm Products, Manufactured Goods, Building Material, Labor and other items
entering into our every day living expenses have receded in prices, house rents continue to REMAIN
HIGH and scarcely a vacant house to be found. The shortage of housing facilities and the continued
increase of our population yearly bids fair to force house rents still higher and certainly they will be-
come no less. Reason then should prompt you to Build your own home and start ^ savings account with
your rent receipts. 9

* People prefer the hou*e to the
apa-r merit because they want to „'et
away from the inevitable crowding
which is found in l>uIldiD-;s of the lat-
ter type. Kspe tally is this the case
if there are children in u<e larjily.
The "kiddies" need plenty of sunshine
and recreation lo develop into healthy
men and women and the^e privileges
are riot very often found in the large
apartment building. The home in-
sures a yard, plenty of breathing space,
bedroom* and comfo.-table rooms. For
this purpose the story-and-a-half
house is very excellently adapted.
Not too large and yet ample for the
needs of a family of Ave or six. it can
be constructed at a very reasonable
coat. To the average family the item
of cost is one of utmost importance.
As the average man builds a home
but once in a lifetime, it is a proposi-
tion of importance and one that he
should study carefully before attempt-
ing. While seeking as attractive a
home as possible he also wants one
that possesses permanency and pro-
tection against fire For these two
qualities brick Is unexcelled. In the
home shown here, the builder has pre-
sented the owner with a charming
house as well as sturdy and safe one.
The exterior Is most attractive, be-
ing of brick and stucco above, with
stucco balust around the front porch.
The porch Is very large and inviting,
and ooe that is excellently adapted
for a recreation place for the family
and children.
It is recessed under an extension of
the main gable roof, and Is enhan ced
by attractive stout white plllat-s and
brick approaches. The front door Is
plain but attractive and opens into a
small vestibule or reception hall.
This hall leads to the living room on
the left and to the stairs going tip.
