Farmers Telephone System.
The farmers eiist and south
J Noble have organized a
company ahd are going, in the
near future, to build a tele-
phone line from Noble to Lex-
ington.
There has been almost $250.
00 raised already for this pur-
pose and in a short time the
work of stringing wire will be
under headway.
The object is to furnish all
farmers with a phone who will
buy a phone box and pay the
expense of connecting to the
main line, thus giving a com-
plete system through the
country.
The main line will run from
Lexington to the south east
corner of John Gray's farm,
then west to Canada school
house, thence to Noble.
This is a great enterprise and
should have the entire support
of every farmer who lives in
reach, as it will give them
good service through the
neighborhood as well as to
both Noble and Lexington.

Marriage and Money.
Marriage used to mean a
blending of hearts and the
weildin'g together of beautiful
sentiments, but the marriage
of modern times, and especial-
ly among the wealthy, mean-
only mingling and blending of
dollars.
It may be possible that some
of our readers have not ha 1
the opportunity to watch .the
actions of those who possess
great wealth, and whom the
silly world is pleased to distin-
guish from the man. who
wears "eyes" upon the , south-
ern part of his pants while he
is going north, by calling them
honorable men and society
women, but if you have got
brains enough to make an in-
valid chigger a lunch, you
know good and well that the
old fathers and mothers, of
these aristocratic "bats" would
rather see one of, their sons
marry a heathen queen, whose
wearing apparel consisted on-
ly of earings and gee strings,
than to see one of their "rum-
soaked" and "cigarette per-
fumed" sons marry the daugli-
tea of some poor farmer or
mechanic, whose undershirt
smelled of the sweat of hones:
toil.
These plutocratic old parents
as the rich term it, who with
a pencil an inch long, and
with a mind that would run
back 25 years could easily
trace the origin of their family
"pile," to a dung-wagon, with
their father as driver, or to a
wash tub with their mother
as engineer
