Give the Beggar Nothing.
During the last few days several
would-be cripple beggars have been
harrassing citizens tin the streets and
in the places of business asking for
"a niece of money to help an unfort-
unate." (iive them nothing—unless it
be a swift kick—and make the lazy
rascals get out of town or go to work.
Stillwater has been decidedly fortunate
in its freedom trorn beggars until very
recently. The first ones to "work'
the town evidently found people here
"easy" judging from the number of
new ones. The proper thing to do is
to show them the road.

expects to establish quite a large herd

A Good Performance.
Stater's Madison Square Theatre
Company presented its first perform-
ance of its week stand here at the
opera house last night. The play given
was "The Blue and the Gray," and was
one of the best performances given
here this season. The cast, throughout
is above the average, some of the mem
hers possessing a high appreciation of
the dramatic.
Miss l'arrell as Lucille, .7. W. Hoy-
loy, as Victor Blanchard, Walter Fane
as Dudley Middleton, were especially
good, while Geo. Castleberry as Carter,
