Attorney Sam Smith shouldered his
little partnership gun yesterday Hfter-

his lonesome. He came in empty-
handed and as lame as any wandering
William we have ever seen. The part-

Hilton & .tush, Sam owns the barrel
and the law lirm of Fulton & Bush
own the stock. They came into pos-
session of the gun by way of a fee in a

divided the spoils valued at some
'sicen cents arid still claim they have
something coming.

A Narrow Escape,
A farmer living near Stillwater
whose name we will :> it mention came
near meeting an untimely end late
yesterday afternoon while attempting
to start home from the city, lie had
"bowled up" on the "red" and was in
a utatc of intoxication when his team
turned the corner at Main and Ninth
streets, lie fell out of the wagon and
the front wheels of the wagon ran over
in-neck and feet. The team stopped Street,
when the wagon wheel was resting on
his neck, I'M Vorbeck rescued him
fruiii his perilous position and found
the man whs not in any wise injured
He would have perhaps been killed
had he not been in an intoxicated con-
dition.
