this vicinity ilia Kx-U over nor Ferguson was a notary
public bank in 1893 and that he also assisted in dis-
tributing seeds which were secured that year by the
Territorial administration and sent to the various
counties for free distribution. 'Hie report has also
been circulated that Ferguson refused to accept the
affidavits from applicants for s-eds if the affidavits
were made out by anv other person. It was alleged
that lie did this in order to have tbo affidavits made
before himself in order to get ‘he fee. The other day
when Kx -Governor Ferguson was in Okeene he was
asked i£ there was any truth in the report and his!
reply was as follows:—“The story is absolutely untrue I
ami the persons who are circulating it are knowingly,
willfully and maliciously circulating a falsehood. In

Again I never assisted in tlie distribution of seeds at
Watonga and could not have refused any applicant tor
