Ferguson’s Past Record Shown
Up by Sensational Affidavits’
Geary, Okla., Aug. 31.—A fire has been built under T. B. Ferguson’s candidacy for*
Congress from the Second district. His campaign managers are frantic and some of his
warmest supporters now are confessing that he has know show to win.
Sensational exposures have been made which doubtless will turn thousands of votes
to Fulton. And the charges are backed up by affidavits innumerable.
The affiants swear that they were solicited, requested and hired by T. B. Ferguson
go from township to township during the election in 18‘JC for the purpose of repenting and
voting more than once on the same day.

A But hire dispatch says: the
plan of the Farmers Union of
Oklahoma lor the establishment
of a co-operative banking concern
of state-wide scops has developed
into a much bigger proposition
than was at first intended on ac-
count of Iks entbsiastic support
given to it and in consequence
amended articles of incor-
poration have bean filed witlTThe
territorial secretary. inorea«ing
its capaital stock from $500, •
000 to $ 1,000,000, Plans of this
sort are now under contemplation
by farmers unions all ovar the
country, but Oklahoma was the
first in the southweat to take
active steps along that line.
In regard to the new oranisation
and its purposes, Cephas Miller
of Seward its treasurer, said:
“The amended articles filed by
the Co operative Bank and Trust
company have bean made neces-
sary by the extensive field the
institution is to till
“While it is located at Okla
bomaCity; the business and sen •
fulness of the ooapeay will be
oo-extenslve with the entire
state,'there are over 100.000 men
in the state belonging to the
farmer and labor visions. This
bank is to be owned by these
people and lend Its aid to their
support.
“when the original charter
was filed a month ago, $500,000
capital seemed ample, but so
rapidly have itspoaolhilitiee dive
loped that a million will hardly
be sufficient to fill the sub-
senbtions offered. Com potent
bankers and business man will
be employed to conduct its bus-
iness and we are now assured
that the farmers' union and
labor organisations of the state
will have the strongest financial
institution in the middle west.
“The present board of direc-
tors is not permanent. We are
simply perfecting our system.
Within a short time our board of
twenty-five members will be re-
organized and filled with the
strongest men oyer the entire
state, who will remain perman-
ently, With our fully developed,
its inlluence will extend to ail
other business institutions, and
the days of the usurer in this
state will bo ended for good.
